YouthQuest Training Week

Jake here.

Katie and I had our YouthQuest training week last week. For those of you who don't know, this is a time for us to get to know the new members of our team, start practicing as a new team, and prepare ourselves for the year and what is to come.

This year's training week was awesome! The new team is phenomenal, as well as our new director, Dan. The new members of YQ are so fresh and ready to go, which is always an encouraging and well needed boost. Dan, who is actually one of my roommates, has done an awesome job so far as the director. Though he had very little time to prepare for the position as it was given to him on August 2, he has really proved himself and shown that he is going to do a great job caring for our team this year.

Training is always a blast and we always get to do some really fun stuff as a team. This year we played broomball again in the LaHaye Ice Center. Here is a shot of my broomball team:

We won a couple of games and lost a couple too, but had a great time doing it!

We also went bowling with the rest of the LU ministry teams on Saturday. It's tradition to sport a costume for this event so we decided that as a team we would rock so 80's garb. It was awesome. We all looked hilarious and definitely stood out, though that could just be because we have 20+ people compared to the rest of the teams who have 8 people, give or take a few.

I knew I'd regret not bringing my camera, so... I brought it. I got some hilarious shots of the team and our bright colored shirts, headbands, and puffy sleeved dresses.

Above: Katie decided to go for the Axl Rose look.

It's going to be a great year for YQ and I am excited for what the Lord has for us. Please keep us in your prayers. Katie and I will have plenty of stories to share from this year and we'll try to keep you all updated on what's going on.

Thanks for checking out The Liberty Crew!

Training Camp

Kyle here,

Tomorrow training camp starts for the last time. Please be in prayer for my teammates and I as we prepare for the season. The Lord has really been working in the life of our players recently and my prayer is that He continues that during camp and into this season. I will be giving updates as much as I can about what is going on, on and off the field. Go Flames!

You can follow training camp here!
